The company that provides the colours in Photoshop is now working together with Airbnb and has decorated a whole house based on inspiration from a single colour. On Tuesday, Pantone and Airbnb introduced the Outside In House, a green theme house that has been inspired by the colour of the year.
Pantone’s colour of 2017 is 15-0343 Greenery, an energetic green shade. The colour has inspired a whole home in London. The host welcomes the guests with freshly made green juice at the door that is painted like a Pantone colour chart. The Outside In House brings the green colour of nature indoors, as the house has a greenhouse indoors and a garden, a bedroom and a forest in the reception area. The Outside In House is part of the relatively new trend of Airbnb that combines accommodation with activities. ”It is hard to imagine a more suitable colour of 2017 than Greenery, a colour that symbolizes new beginnings, growth and vitality”, says James McClure, chief of Airbnb in Northern Europe.
The house, located in 4 Dingley Place, Clerkenwell, London, has two bedrooms which can house up to four guests. The surplus from Airbnb bookings goes to AIGA, a non-profit trade organisation for designers.
”Because Pantone 15-034 Greenery is a warm and brisk shade of yellow and green that makes you want to relax, reload and top up your energy levels, it was a natural step forward for us to work together with Airbnb for the first time and bring Pantone’s colour of 2017 to life”, says Laurie Pressman, vice president of Pantone Color Institute.
