In connection with the annual meeting held in Gothenburg on April 24, 2026, the Plant Design of the Year award was presented.

The 2025 winner is ISS Facility Services Norway for their contribution:

Green Atrium for an Improved Indoor Environment

About the contribution

The building has been designed to promote health and well being. At the heart of the project is a large, tropical indoor garden – a green atrium that provides abundant daylight, contributes to cleaner air, and offers a strong sense of nature within the building.

On the roof, both green recreational areas and a vegetable garden have been established for the tenants’ use. These solutions are not merely aesthetic, but form an integral part of the project’s WELL approach, aiming to create buildings that actively support health, well-being, and quality of life.

At the center of the building, the Garden opens up as a subtropical space filled with palm trees, lush plants, seating areas, and natural light. A vibrant gathering place that offers both calm and energy.

The Garden functions as the social heart of the building, connecting offices, dining venues, retail spaces, and the fitness center. It brings together employees, students, neighbors, and visitors for informal meetings, courses, product launches, and cultural events.

Soft structures and relaxed surroundings meet rich plant life beneath the atrium’s glass roof in Teknostallen’s subtropical garden – Trondheim’s oasis. Palms, orange trees, and evergreen plants compete for attention as you hurry past, gently encouraging you to pause and take a break from the workday.
